About Our CDL Training Program
Getting a commercial driver’s license (CDL) makes you eligible to drive a truck, a trailer, a passenger vehicle carrying 16 or more passengers, or any other kind of commercial vehicle within and across state boundaries. This means that the CDL is the passport to a truck driving career with its host of benefits.
You have to sit for and pass the CDL test to acquire this license. The test comprises two segments—a written section where you will be tested on the contents of the CDL manual and then, a practical driving test. At Affordable Truck Driver Training, LLC, we provide a 160-hour training program, both full-time and part-time so we are able to help everyone’s each individual needs.
OUR INSTRUCTORS DON’T JUST TELL YOU TO REV IT UP AND THROW IT IN GEAR, THEY WILL TEACH YOU WHAT GEAR GOES WITH WHAT SPEED AT WHAT RPM. THIS IS A EXAMPLE OF THE QUALITY TRAINING YOU WILL RECEIVE AT A.T.D.T.
In the first week of our training program, we will guide you through the various sections of the CDL manual in our classroom. You will be required to go through sections like basic road safety rules, trucking regulations, basic operating knowledge of a commercial vehicle, and fundamental troubleshooting tips. We will also guide you through the relevant sections of the manual that pertain to the specific additional endorsement(s) you may have applied for.
Once you take and pass the written test, you will be issued the CDL permit with which you can get behind the wheels of a truck and learn or refresh your driving skills. These practical training sessions will be carried out first on our driving range and then on the local highways. In the second and third weeks of our training program, our experienced instructor will accompany you on the vehicle as you receive your practical training. This hands-on training will help you learn how to tackle the challenges of driving on and under tough road and weather conditions and steer your vehicle safely through crowded towns and cities.
Our CDL training program is held in high regard by trucking employers all over Alabama—Opelika, Eufaula, Troy, Greenville, and other places—and so it is not surprising that our students get great jobs right after they obtain their licenses.
